About

Named for the man who gave us the algorithm.

A Dubai-based team building software and securing the infrastructure it runs on, in the belief that good engineering is legible engineering — systems you can read, verify, and change with confidence.

The name

خوارزم

Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi was a 9th-century scholar whose Latinised name became the word algorithm, and whose treatise gave us algebra.

He worked in a tradition where mathematics, geometry, and practical problem-solving were the same discipline. That is roughly how we think about software and security.

The mark

Four nodes. Three edges. One vertex.

خوارزم The mark is a hexagon enclosing a K — drawn not as a letter but as a graph: four nodes, three edges, and a single gold vertex where the paths meet.

It is the smallest honest picture of what we do. A network is nodes and the connections between them. So is a piece of software. So is an algorithm.

You will find the same figure inside every firewall on our home page. That is not decoration; it is the same idea at a different scale.

The team

Engineers, not layers.

We are a small, senior team working across two disciplines that most firms keep apart: software development and cybersecurity. The people who write our code are the people who secure it.

Our work spans custom systems built for client organisations, our own products developed in house, and enterprise network estates running thousands of devices across multiple vendors — where policy has to be provable, not just present.

We keep the team small on purpose. You talk to the engineers doing the work, not to an account manager relaying messages. There is no bench to keep busy, which means we can say no.

We take a small number of engagements at a time. We prefer the ones where the problem is genuinely hard, and we would rather tell you we are not the right fit than take work we cannot do well.

If you have a system that needs building, or one that needs securing, we would like to hear about it.
